Another creative event in Nottingham! I came across this one while looking at a friends photos on Facebook. (stalking)

Although there was live drawing involved, it was based more around the coming together of young entrepreneurial talents to display their multifaceted business ventures.



I came across this flickr set which really shows off the live drawing element of the 1 day event.

Just playing around with an online flyer design to post on the Facebook group for the event.
Ive been using a Wacom tablet to do some hand style typography on the right hand side, using Adobe Illustrator. I find the programme's drawing tool incredibly frustrating so I have given up for now. Maybe I will do some nice real hand drawn type and use a scanner?

It's Official! The first 'You Are Welcome' event will be next Thursday 21st May.
I've decided as this is the first one, I will hold it at my house. I want to get an idea of how interested people are at these kinds of events so I will test it out on my Vis Comm peers.

As this event won't be open to everyone, I won't be able to advertise it through a poster. Instead I will set up an event page on Facebook. This way I can just target those I want to come and give information through there. I will also be designing some invitation packages. Watch this space - its getting messy!

Nom

Been thinking of what to call this damn event!

I need a name for the 'organisation' as an identity, which never changes, but for each event something is added onto the end that is in relation to the theme.

My Ipod is a good place to look for quite meaningless titles and names that look good written down - I risk making the event look too pretentious when doing this though as it will relate to a music genre - and be sort of an 'in joke'.

I'm not even going to mention them.

I eventually came up with 'You Are Welcome' because, it sounds nice, it means nice & polite - it has a meaning which relates to the event and its nice to write...
