Methods

To start my research of typography off, I've been thinking of all the different methods in my knowledge of creating type.
Here's the list;

Letter Press

Calligraphy

Screen print

Needle point (Samples)

Digital

By Hand (stuff that isn't calligraphy)

(All above images found on Flickr.com)

I want to explore each of these methods, and in doing so, discover other ways in which type is created in the past, the present, and the ideas for the future.

Comm Tech II: Type and Typography

"Typography surrounds us in Western daily life. It enables, guides and directs us through physical space with signing, timetables, commercial agreements, advertisements, promotion, tokens of value, receipts, banknotes, tickets and stamps and takes us on intellectual journeys through literature and poetry."

Baines, P. & Haslam, A., 2005. Type & Typography. 2nd ed. Laurence Kind Publishing Ltd, London, UK.

Comm Tech II: No Brainer - Typography

I'm going to base my studies for Communication Technology II around Typography. I want to focus on the lo-tech ways typography is done or could be done, and also look at typography of the digital age and typography of the future! Hold tight!
