This Library in Crawley has a bunch of trees in it, with passages from popular books 'carved' into them.
One of the artists working on the project was Gordon young
As you can see, he is a highly skilled letter cutter. I was shocked to read this...
The type on the trees isn't carved but sandblasted out of the wood: "You put vinyl onto the wood and peel the lettering out of it."
There reason for this was to save time of course.
